UCLA Evening Van Service

The Evening Van Service provides a safe means of transportation around campus during the evening hours.  The vans provide transportation between campus buildings, on-campus housing, and nearby residential areas.  The service is free of charge and available to all UCLA students, staff, faculty, and visitors.  For added safety, the vans are driven by Community Service Officers (CSOs) who carry two-way radios, providing a direct link to the UCLA Police Department.

Van Route and Operations

There are seven vans operating on one route.  Three vans run in a clockwise direction, serving areas in the following order:  Ackerman Union, the Residence halls, the libraries on campus, Lot 32, and the apartments on the west side of campus.  Three vans run in a counter-clockwise direction, serving areas in the following order:  Ackerman Union, the apartments on the west side of campus, and the Residence Halls.  An additional van is used for support during busy periods to accommodate more people and to maintain the efficiency of the service.  The Evening Vans will arrive at each stop approximately every 15 minutes.  The entire route (from Ackerman back to Ackerman) takes approximately 40 minutes, so the Evening Vans will stop at designated areas only.

The Evening Van Service is available Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters.  The hours of operation are Monday through  Thursday from 6PM until 11PM.
